Event Details

Every February, Canada's Capital Region is host to Winterlude , North America's greatest winter celebration. Three fun-filled weekends of excitement and activity await the whole family! From spectacular ice carvings to an amazing playground made of snow, Winterlude is a great way to take in the best of our Canadian winter.

In this Safari—offered during the Winterlude Festival —you will have the opportunity to photograph the Ice Sculptures when they are the most beautiful: at night time!

Bring your camera and improve your understanding of using your equipment at night as you join professional photographer Ray Pilon for an exciting evening photographic tour of the Ice and Snow Sculptures.

Under Ray’s guidance, you will find out how to use your camera creatively so that you will have some classic photographs to display upon your return home. Ray will provide instruction in composition, exposure issues in night time photography, and proper white balance and colour filtration.

Bring your camera equipment, all your lenses, a flashlight or penlight, and a STURDY tripod for this new adventure into night time photography at one of popular winter festivals in one of the most beautiful cities in North America.

Don't forget to bring spare batteries and make sure you dress warm!

Offered Thursday evening February 10, 2011.
